About Outfolded

Hello and welcome to Outfolded! My name is Hanna and I am the owner and creator of Outfolded. I started my business creating greeting cards using my cricut and pretty patterned paper that I would find at hobby lobby, Michael's, etc. When I decided to turn that hobby into a business I knew I wanted a clever name to go with it. A little back-story to explain the word "outfolded" I feel is necessary here. When my son (who is now 16) was a toddler and going through that stage of really wanting to do everything on his own, he would insist on dressing himself. Whenever he would struggle with a piece of clothing because the sleeve was tucked in or the pants were inside out he would always come to us with his sweet little pouty face and ask us to please "outfolded this". That is a core memory for me and my husband, so when we were trying to come up with a name for my business my husband suggested "Outfolded" and I instantly fell in love with it! Now, my business has transitioned away from greeting cards, but because my business is largely paper based (especially bookmarks) I feel the name still suits my brand really well! I do not like when people dog-ear pages of a book, so now I can use my brand name to say "please keep your pages outfolded" haha! It may not make sense to a lot of people, but it does to me and my husband! 

Outfolded has evolved a lot through the last 3 years and I am finally getting comfortable with my brand, who I am, and what I want this business to be. I have transitioned this business to include all of my own original artwork, and the majority of the products are designed and handmade by me in my home studio in Tennessee. I am an avid reader and love to incorporate bookish themes into my designs, but I also want a little something for those who aren't big readers. Therefore I also offer cute patterns with adorable characters or pretty flowers, and more. As the years go on and Outfolded grows I am sure I will transition to more manufactured products so that I can always offer my customers that best quality that I can, but for now I am learning how to make a lot of things and I am loving the process of it all! I document a lot of this process on my Youtube channel @Outfolded.
